Don Sommer, MSCC, USAW
Don Sommer has been in charge of the TCU strength and conditioning program since his arrival in Fort Worth on January 23, 2001. In his capacity, Sommer is responsible for the overall direction, design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for all sports at TCU. Sommer came to TCU after serving in a similar capacity at the University of Missouri for the previous two years. He had been part of the Tiger program since 1989, serving first as a graduate assistant for two years, before assuming the assistant strength and conditioning coaching post in 1991. Sommer was one of 10 individuals to receive the prestigious certification of "Master Strength & Conditioning Coach" at the 2003 Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa) national conference. He joined the existing 26 Master Strength & Conditioning Coaches, bringing the total number of MSCC's in the world to 36 at the time of his certification. Sommer is a graduate of the University of Texas-El Paso with a bachelor's degree in education. He was a four-year letterman and starter for the Miners' football squad and went on to play professionally with the Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts. Sommer returned to the classroom following his playing career and earned his master's degree in health education from Missouri.

Matt Parker, SCCC, USAW
Coach Parker is the Associate Director of Strength and Conditioning and heads Women's Volleyball athlete enhancement. Coach Parker is certified by the CSCCa and is credentialed by USA Weightlifting. Parker received his undergrad in Human Performance from University of Alabama.

Stephen Gephardt, CSCS, SCCC

Steve Gephardt begins his first season as the assistant strength and conditioning coach at TCU where he will oversee the physical enhancement of the men's basketball and women's equestrian teams as well as assist with the football program. Prior to joining the strength and conditioning staff at TCU, Gephardt served as a graduate assistant at the University ofAlabama at Birmingham. The TCU assistant strength and conditioning coach is certified by both the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) as well as the CSCCA (Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association). Gephardt earned his bachelor's degree from Arizona State University in kinesiology and received his master's degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
